Sheffield Pharmaceuticals named to the Marcum Tech Top 40

Sheffield Pharmaceuticals Named One of the 40 Fastest Growing Tech Companies in Connecticut by 2017 Marcum Tech Top 40

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Hartford, CT, September 19, 2017Sheffield Pharmaceuticals was named to the Marcum Tech Top 40 (TT40) list of fastest growing technology companies in Connecticut by the Connecticut Technology Council (CTC) and Marcum LLP. Sheffield was recognized for the second straight year in the Life Sciences category and was honored at an awards ceremony on September 19th at the Toyota Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford, CT. Anthony Sollima, Sheffield’s Executive Vice President of Quality and Product Development was on hand to accept the award.

“We are honored to be named to this prestigious list and to be recognized alongside Connecticut’s best for the second straight year,” said Jeffrey Davis, Sheffield Pharmaceuticals President and CEO. “Sheffield was established in 1850 on the same site that we manufacture in today. Dr. Sheffield was not only one of the first to create a toothpaste recipe, his company was the first to put toothpaste in a tube in the early 1870s. Our new Dr. Sheffield’s Certified Natural Toothpaste honors that past and meets the needs of natural-conscious consumers who want an effective toothpaste that actually tastes good. It is available in both CVS and Bed Bath and Beyond stores nationally.”

Understanding the needs of consumers and delivering on the same lines is an endeavor all companies undertake, but few succeed. By keeping their focus on the market reaction to products, backed by extensive research and comprehension of the customer experience strategy (likely drawing from guidelines by experts in the field like Qualtrics), a company can ensure that they launch tailored products that meet the specific needs of their customers. Add to this the helping hand of technology, and there’s the recipe for success. Repeating this process year after year has helped Sheffield Pharmaceuticals get to where it is today.

The Marcum Tech Top 40, celebrating its tenth anniversary, recognizes technology companies with at least $3 million in annual revenue and a four-year record of growth, in six industry sectors. Both privately held and publicly traded companies are eligible.

“Marcum Tech Top 40 companies and winners are exemplars of overcoming any number of obstacles in business, including capital-raising, complex revenue reporting, intellectual property management, international expansion and other challenges. The tenth anniversary class of Marcum Tech Top 40 companies are best-in-class by all of these measures and more,” said Michael K. Brooder, CPA, managing partner of Marcum’s Hartford, Connecticut, office.

Bruce Carlson, CTC’s President & CEO, said, “The Marcum Tech Top 40 reminds us each year that technology companies are thriving in Connecticut. We need to support these companies and the others that are in a growth mode for Connecticut to achieve the job creation and economic growth we are all striving for. The Connecticut Technology Council will continue to be an advocate for the public policies and best practices that support the state’s technology sector.”
